Drivers and operators of cranes and semi truck services blocked the Mexico-Querétaro Highway for more than five hours, near the Colonia Parque Industrial Cuamatla, in the Municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli, in the State of Mexico.

From 10:42 a.m. until 3:17 p.m., when the blockade was lifted, the operators maintained an impact on the center lanes in both directions.

The pipe workers who are members of the Group of Transporters, Merchants and Annexes of the State of Mexico (ACME) reported that they have been victims of extortion and threats by the City Council’s mobility director, Gonzalo Hernández Posadas.

They pointed out that he is colluding with armed groups that usually threaten the transporters of said group in Atizapán de Zaragoza, for which they requested a dialogue table with the municipal authorities to try to reach an agreement.

Drivers on social networks indicated that the line reached up to 10 kilometers from the exit of Mexico City, at the height of Periférico and from Coyotepec, and in the opposite direction from the intersection of Reyes Heroles and Valle Dorado.

At 3:17 p.m., Federal Roads and Bridges (Capufe) reported that the protesters were already clearing the road at kilometer 36.

He added that so far there are lines of up to 7 kilometers of cars heading to Mexico City and 5 heading to Querétaro.
