“Painting is a form of memory and hope” (Jair Laiter)
Constructions: One narrative, three conferences by author Jair Laiter. Jair Laiter trained as an architect before turning fully to painting, a shift he describes as returning architecture to its origins in drawing and observation. His practice has taken shape across Brooklyn, Mexico City, and Madrid. He works primarily in oil and temple graso, building his images slowly, in layers, the way one builds a memory rather than records a fact. Constructions is his most recent body of work.
“CONSTRUCTIONS” A PICTORIAL EXHIBITION BY Jair Laiter

Open to the public from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the auditorium lobby of the Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (Campus Centro Histórico).
The exhibition comprises 15 works by the author, focusing on the theme of the Great Flood as a recurring motif. The exhibition draws an analogy to our current times, in which we must allow the “Flood” to pass to rebuild ourselves in a better way as a society.
Some of the works refer to myths and biblical passages, while others allude to urban elements.
The main work, titled Noah, is a triptych whose format is based on altarpieces from medieval and Renaissance European sacred art. In this work, the artist creatively depicts the Great Flood, dividing it into four elements that, to a certain extent, chronologically explain this biblical passage.
RECONSTRUCTIONS PAINTING WORKSHOP

A practical workshop dedicated to the reconstruction of the pictorial image based on observation, memory, and imagination.
Participants will explore how a painting can be transformed through simplification, reinterpretation, and artistic decision-making, understanding the act of painting as a process of searching and synthesizing rather than a literal reproduction of reality.
Workshop aimed at students, teachers, and the general public.
Basic Watercolor Painting Workshop
