More vaccines against Covid-19 from Pfizer and Sinovac arrive in Sinaloa

Citizens should not neglect prevention measures, even when they have received vaccines against Covid-19

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- On the morning of this Saturday, the State Vaccination Command received a shipment of 71 thousand 500 doses from the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Sinovac for older adults from GuasaveEl FuerteAhome and Sinaloa municipality.

The Secretary of HealthEfrén Encinas Torres, explained that 27 thousand 40 doses of Sinovac will be destined for the elderly of Guasave (rural area), El Fuerte and Sinaloa and 44 thousand 460 vaccines from Pfizer for grandparents of Ahome and Guasaveurban area, as a complement to the vaccination scheme in these municipalities.

“ We are going to store them in the cold network of the ultra-freezers of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa to apply second doses in the municipalities of Ahome and Guasave in urban areas, there are also around 27 thousand doses of the Sinovac vaccine for second doses from the municipalities of El Fuerte, Sinaloa and Guasave ”, he explained.

Encinas Torres pointed out that the vaccination with this batch of doses will begin next Monday, and later, it will continue in Culiacán and Mazatlán, in urban areas.

He affirmed that work will continue so that Sinaloans are protected with the application of the vaccine, at the same time that, he reiterated, that the vaccination program continues to advance.

However, he stressed that citizens should not neglect prevention measures, even when they have received vaccines against Covid-19.

Witnessing the arrival were the Welfare Delegate in Sinaloa, Jaime Montes Salas; UAS Secretary General, Gerardo Alapizco Castro; Sadrac Torres Sotelo, head of the legal affairs department of the IMSS and Generals Vinicio Perea and Juan Osuna González representing the Armed Forces.
