Empowering the Next Generation: “Mini Heroes to the Rescue” Camp in Puerto Peñasco

In a vibrant display of community engagement and safety awareness, the coastal city of Puerto Peñasco has kicked off the “Mini Heroes to the Rescue 2026” summer camp. This three-day initiative, running from August 7th through the 9th, provides local children with a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about emergency response, fire safety, and disaster prevention.

Guided by professional firefighters, the children are immersed in a series of dynamic activities designed to demystify the work of emergency personnel. The camp aims to go beyond simple entertainment; the core objective is to equip participants with practical tools they can apply in their daily lives. The inaugural day featured an official welcome ceremony at the Municipal Auditorium, attended by key local leaders, including the coordinator of Civil Protection and Firefighters, Armando Flores, and the president of the Municipal DIF, Ofelia Castro. Their presence underscored the municipal government’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety among the city’s youth.

As the camp continues through the weekend, these children are not only learning how to act in an emergency but are also building resilience and confidence.
