On Sunday, August 9, 2026, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in Mexico City recorded various social mobilizations, concentrations, and bike rides across the capital. The day featured a major march, several activist and neighborhood gatherings, and organized motorcycle and bicycle rides.
Principal March (Cuauhtémoc Borough): At 08:30 hours, the Movement of Indigenous Peoples, Communities, and Organizations marched from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo. In Coyoacán at 10:30 and 12:00 hours, groups gathered at Utopía Coyoacán and the National Center for the Arts to collect signatures supporting the “Medical Assistance to Die Law in CDMX” initiative.
In Cuauhtémoc at 10:00 hours, the “Hasta Encontrarte Delrin” Collective met at the Ahuehuete Glorieta to demand justice in disappearance cases. Additional protests in Cuauhtémoc included the Plural Machine-Operators Movement at the Hemiciclo a Juárez at 11:00 hours, and Mexican Nationalist groups at the Zócalo at 12:00 hours protesting mandatory phone registry requirements.
Cyclist and Biker Rides: Multiple recreational and transit rides organized by various groups departed during the early hours toward destinations in the State of Mexico, including Chalma, Lake Zumpango, Texcoco, and Santo Tomás de los Plátanos, alongside local routes.
