World Press Photo 2024 arrives in CDMX: war, mental health, and migration stand out in this exhibition.
The World Press Photo 2024 exhibition arrives at the Franz Mayer Museum in CDMX and the selected photographs highlight topics such as the conflict in Gaza, mental health, and migration.
Mexico did not receive any awards in the photojournalism exhibition, however, it stood out in the work of Venezuelan Alejandro Cegarra who portrayed our country as a second wall for migrants seeking the “American dream.”
Of the total number of photographs that are part of the exhibition, 24 were winners with six honorable mentions and two special mentions, among which the “Photo of the Year” stands out, which portrayed a Palestinian woman hugging the body of her niece, by photographer Mohammed Salem.
The 129 photographs that were selected from more than 61 thousand participants from 127 countries will be available to the public from June 7 to August 25 in this exhibition, which is also in its 25th edition.
