Marysol Galván Pelayo, coordinator of Artwalk 2023, indicated that for this edition there will be improvements, ranging from special days to extended hours for those who like to tour the galleries.

MAZATLAN.- Artwalk, El Camino del arte 2023, is back with the participation of 90 artisans and plastic artists from Mazatlán, from the interior of the Republic and from abroad.

Marysol Galván Pelayo, coordinator of Artwalk 2023, indicated that for this edition there will be improvements, ranging from special days to extended hours for those who like to tour the galleries.

Traditionally this movement is carried out from November to April, on the first Friday of each month, which according to the calendar will be November 3, December 1, January 5, February 2, March 1, and April 5, for This edition special days are added: December 15, January 19 and February 16.

Another novelty is that there will be collective spaces for some artists who wanted to participate so, they don’t need to rent a full gallery, they were given the opportunity to participate in collective spaces such as the El Presidio restaurant, the Patio Escobedo, the Sigma Museum and the Venustiano Carranza Park.

“Before, between 29 and 30 venues participated, this time we are already at 40, and in terms of artists we are between 90 and 100.”

This year there will be the participation and support of the Ministry of Tourism, an institution that will provide headquarters and host artisans and artists from the Magical Towns and Stately Towns.

The plastic artist indicated that for this edition in the different galleries, local visitors, residents and tourists will be able to appreciate pictorial works, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography, drawing, textiles, among other pieces made in different techniques, sizes and colors.

Galván Pelayo pointed out that this 2023-2024 a total of eight thousand maps were sent to be printed distributed among the almost 40 participating galleries, they will contain the necessary information, routes to take, as well as details of the participants, who will open their doors from from 4:00 p.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. while others will do so an hour later.
