Editorial Office.- After an armed attack left two police officers dead and two paramedics injured in Jocotepec, as well as burning trucks in Tamazula de Gordiano, on March 10, the state authorities announced the reinforcement of security in the region.

After holding a meeting with the security cabinet, the state governor, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, indicated that surveillance would be strengthened in the municipalities where violent acts were recorded, in addition to the areas bordering Michoacán.

“These events cannot make us fall into fear and anxiety,” the governor commented in a message broadcast through his social networks.

Despite the series of violent events that took place on the night of March 10, Alfaro Ramírez considered that Jalisco is calm and that the security problems correspond to the neighboring states of Colima, Michoacán, and Zacatecas.
