Querétaro 2000 Park was the venue for the 2021 Cross Country National Championship, a competition that served as a selective for the 2022 Pan American Cup, and managed to bring together runners from 29 selective Mexican associations, who participated in distances of 6, 8 and 10 kilometers, youth categories and free, in the male branch and the female branch.

“ Six years ago we made a commitment that Querétaro would be the athletics capital of Mexico, today with the current governor we are fulfilling that commitment and we will continue like this, Querétaro has the facilities, has the support and kindness of its people to provide everyone with country this type of events ”, explained Antonio Lozano, president of the Mexican Federation of Athletics Associations.

From Queretaro, Mark Emmanuel López was crowned champion of the 8 km category. Juvenile, with a time of 27.51. With this result, he qualified for the Pan American Cup of the specialty, which will be held in Brazil in March 2022. In second place was César Morales from San Luis Potosí, and third place went to the Chiapas runner, Bryan Vázquez.

“ Thank God the goal was achieved, the route was heavy, but we had time to train and everything went well. It feels very good to be champion at home, as my family is here and it is a very nice feeling. It is a team effort, the four representatives of Mexico are going and the only thing left to do is to continue training to position the country in a good place ”, said Mark Emmanuel López.
