2056

The Mexico-Querétaro Highway has been experiencing significant traffic congestion since early Thursday morning, April 9, with users reporting lines of up to 9 kilometers (3.5 miles) heading towards Mexico City (CDMX).

Drivers traveling on the highway shared images and videos on social media, such as those posted by the Hola Atizapán account, showing a long line of vehicles, including trucks and buses, moving slowly or practically at a standstill.

According to the Federal Roads and Bridges Agency (Capufe), the traffic is concentrated between kilometers 33 and 38 of the Mexico-Querétaro Highway, heading towards Mexico City.

The agency reported that the congestion is due to maintenance work being carried out outside its jurisdiction, which has impacted traffic on that section of the highway.

This situation has caused motorists to face long travel times.

The videos shared show a continuous line of cars, trucks, and buses stretching for several kilometers, causing significant delays.

Some drivers reported that it has taken them several hours to travel short distances within the affected section of the road.
