If you deal with unknown numbers daily, here’s how to set your phone to receive calls only from your contacts.
Today, thousands of people receive unwanted calls that can result in scams, extortion, or simply annoying ads from a seller.
If you want to avoid these scenarios, we teach you to only receive calls from your contacts, whether on iOS or Android.
Block unknown numbers on iOS
With iOS 13 or later you can activate the “Silence unknown phone numbers” feature. If you do this, the numbers you have never had contact with and have not saved in your list will be blocked.
To turn this feature on, go to “Settings,” “Phone,” then scroll down, tap “Silence unknown phone numbers,” and turn it on. Calls from unknown numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail, and appear in your recent calls list.
Block unknown numbers on Android
Open the phone app.
Press the three dots that appear at the top of the screen.
Select “Settings” followed by “Blocked numbers.”
Activate the “Unknown” function.
This action will block calls from private or unidentified numbers.
How to block a specific number
Open the phone app.
Press the three dots at the top of the screen followed by “Call History.”
Select a call from the number you want to block.
Tap Block/mark as spam.
If visual voicemail is turned on, blocked callers won’t be able to leave voicemails either.
