Intelligence personnel from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) were robbed of four firearms and personal belongings in the parking lot of a shopping center in Zapopan, Jalisco.
The robbery took place on the afternoon of August 12, 2026. Incident Details: Location: Parking lot of a Chedraui store at the intersection of Acueducto Avenue and Patria Avenue, in the Vista Los Colomos neighborhood of Zapopan.
Victims: Federal intelligence agents from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection traveling in a silver Hyundai Grand i10 compact car.
Perpetrators: Armed individuals traveling in an orange Ford Lobo Raptor pickup truck and a blue Mazda sedan.
Stolen Items: Two handguns, two service-issued long guns, and the officers’ personal belongings.
Institutional Response: Following the report of the robbery, State Police and the Zapopan Police Department launched operational deployments in the area to locate the vehicles and the perpetrators, who had fled in an unknown direction.
The affected officers stated that they would file a formal complaint with the appropriate federal authorities.
