First reports indicate that the injured person is in serious condition in a hospital in Cancun; They investigate the motive for the attack.
The branches of Los Aguachiles restaurants in Cancún and Playa del Carmen were attacked by gunfire this afternoon, September 24, 2023. The incident in Cancún left one man injured and two hitmen captured.
According to preliminary information, the events occurred almost at the same time, around 4:30 p.m.
In Cancún, the attack on the Los Aguachiles restaurant, located on Nichupté Avenue on the corner of Nizuc, in Supermanzana 17; left one person injured.
Witnesses told the police that they heard several gunshots inside the place. After the surprise, someone notified the authorities, so emergency services arrived shortly after to treat the victim who was still alive.
Following the report, the police implemented a cordon off area and a search operation, achieving the capture of one of the hitmen.
It was learned that an accomplice managed to escape among the streets and garden areas of superblock 17, but about half an hour later, the police reported the arrest of a man related to the crime.
So far, the identity of the victim has not been revealed, as well as the reason for the armed attack at the Los Aguachiles Cancún restaurant.
However, almost at the same time, Playa del Carmen authorities reported that the facade of the Los Aguachiles restaurant, located in Plaza Paraíso, was attacked with firearms.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident.
