Mexican baseball players in MLB 2023: how many are there, and who are the best?


After an exciting World Baseball Classic, the new MLB season began on March 30. With it, we got to know the Mexican players who would participate in this season of the major leagues, representing the country. How many are there, and who are the best? We’ll tell you!

We had to wait six years to enjoy the World Baseball Classic due to the pandemic, and finally, in 2023, we witnessed an exciting competition where the teams representing Latin and Central America made headlines. Mexico was undoubtedly one of the standout selections, shining against the United States and Canada in Group C and reaching the semifinals against Japan, the eventual winner of the tournament.

Julio Urías (Milwaukee Brewers)

Urías is a pitcher who has demonstrated his talent for many years with the Los Angeles Dodgers, making his debut in 2016 and playing a key role in the 2020 season when the Dodgers won the World Series title. He currently plays for the Milwaukee Brewers, showcasing versatility and a lot of talent with excellent control, delivering strikes. This young talent has become one of the most experienced Mexican players in the Major League.

José Urquidy (Houston Astros)
