SAN MARTÍN DE LAS PIRÁMIDES, Estado de México — Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy universe will have the chance to step directly into Middle-earth this summer as the fifth edition of “Festival La Comarca” arrives in Teotihuacán on August 8 and 9, 2026.
Hosted at the spacious Club Campestre Teotihuacán from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. both days, the popular two-day gathering promises an immersive medieval experience. Set against a backdrop of lush gardens, outdoor fields, and a scenic lake, the venue provides the ideal setting for attendees eager to experience the legendary charm of the Shire.
The fifth installment of the festival features a packed lineup of themed entertainment and interactive activities. Visitors can look forward to live Celtic and folk music performances, hobbit and elven dance shows, dramatic orc appearances, and medieval combat demonstrations. Guests can also take part in costume contests, symbolic elven weddings, or browse a vibrant artisan bazaar filled with handcrafted fantasy merchandise, jewelry, and themed keepsakes.
For those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, the festival offers a traditional Shire-style picnic area and the popular “Wishing Tree.” Designed as an inclusive affair, the event is suitable for visitors of all ages and is officially pet-friendly, welcoming pets on site.
Covered areas and shaded zones will be set up for guest comfort throughout the afternoon, while overnight options such as camping and hotel lodging can be reserved directly through the venue.
Tickets are available online via Boletia, with prices ranging from 400 Mexican pesos for general admission to 800 pesos for full-access packages. Children under 10 years old enter free of charge.
