According to specialists consulted by Francisco Villalobos, Grupo Formula correspondent in the United States, the son of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador could be breaking U.S. law by working as a legal advisor.

In the first place, specialists highlighted that José Ramón López Beltrán has a TN-type work visa, which allows foreigners to work only with a specific company.

However, by not belonging to the Texas Bar, the son of President López Obrador would be unable to act as legal advisor to a US company, a situation that could also cause problems with his immigration status and may be deported.

“If you are giving legal advice without being a lawyer in the state of Texas, you are breaking the law,”

On Sunday, the son of the president of Mexico published a message on his social networks in which he announced that he currently works as an advisor for a US company. This as a result of the scandal over the so-called “Wellness Mansion”, a luxury residence in which he lives. Which led to questioning his sources of income.

“Currently, and since 2020, I have been working as a development and construction legal advisor at KEI Partners,” said José Ramón López Beltrán.

In addition, he denied that he has interference in the government of the Fourth Transformation because of Baker Hughes’ ties with Pemex.
