EIGHT OF THE LARGEST LOCAL “NEIBORHOODS” LAUNCHED THE ORGANIZATION; OTHERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN

On Tuesday, June 22, The Lake Chapala Society organized the inaugural meeting of the Lakeside Neiborhood’s Association, convening representatives of eight of the largest subdivisions of the Chapala Lakeside. The group launched the partnership to work together on issues of common interest to the majority Neiborhood’s of the area and to provide a united front in relations with government agencies such as SIMAPA and CONAGUA.

Among the participants in the launch of the association were Chula Vista Norte, Vista del Lago, La Floresta, Las Fuentes, Chula Vista, Brisas de Chapala, Chapala Haciendas and Villa Nova, all of whom were represented by members of their Boards of Directors at the meeting. The organization estimates that these subdivisions alone represent more than 1,800 owners in Lakeside, of which nearly half are Mexican citizens.

The main theme among those represented was that of the “Concession Agreements” with the municipality, through which a gated community contracts with the municipality the provision of services to its members, which would normally be provided by the municipality. However, he will also work on other common issues such as building code and zoning violations, illegal construction, Airbnb’s tenants, CONAGUA fees, safety and crime prevention, and working with government agencies.

Other fractionations are encouraged to join. Representatives or members of the board of directors of the subdivisions who would like more information should contact Timothy Tietze at ttietzeevnboard@gmail.com
