Aquarium, Civil Protection and the Aquatic Squad managed to put the specimen under protection

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- After more than 12 hours of waiting for the right moment to act, Mazatlán Aquarium personnel, Civil Protection elements, and Aquatic Squad managed to rescue a sea lion on the beaches of Mazatlán.

This is reportedly a six to seven-year-old male, weighing around 250 to 300 kilograms.

The medical diagnosis is still reserved, given the blindness that he presents in his right eye and the blows to the body.

However, the sea lion is already under treatment and observation at the Aquarium’s facilities.

This specimen was seen for the first time in front of the facilities of the Autonomous University of the West and its rescue was achieved in front of the Las Gavias condominiums.

It is not the first time that a sea lion has been rescued on the beaches of the port. When that happens, the specimens are made available to the Mazatlán Aquarium.
