Migrants from; Belize, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and India were located in the municipalities of Agua Dulce, Cosoleacaque and Las Choapas.
Veracruz, Ver.- Elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) rescued 149 migrants and detained two men, for alleged human trafficking in operations carried out in different parts of the State of Veracruz.
The migrants come from Belize, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and India, who were located in the municipalities of Agua Dulce, Cosoleacaque, and Las Choapas, so they are already available to the immigration authorities.
According to a statement, in an operation coordinated between the Veracruz and Tabasco authorities, they located 115 migrants on the coastal road of the Gulf Veracruz-Tonalá, from the municipality of Agua Dulce with the intention of getting to the north of the country.
The arrest was carried out by elements of the State Police and Civil Force, in conjunction with the National Guard and the State Police of Tabasco, as well as the National Migration Institute (INM), which was in charge of carrying out the corresponding procedures.
It was announced that 11 minors were traveling among the migrants.
In another operation, but now carried out in Cosoleacaque, two migrants were located, while in Las Choapas, they found 32 more and the arrest of Carlos “N” and Pedro “N” for the alleged crime of human trafficking.
The rescued people were treated with medication and food and were channeled to the National Migration Institute (INM), where their legal situation in the country will be determined.
Authorities reported that these types of operations will be continuous and that they are part of the “United for Peacebuilding” program, in which the National Defense of the Mexican Navy, SPP, National Guard, and Federal Police participate.
