In the old railway station of Tulancingo, Hidalgo, there is a place of worship for all lovers of wrestling in our country. The Santo museum is dedicated to Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta. Who dedicated his life embodying the main figure of the strings and hero of the big screen.

In the museum, you will find more than 200 pieces on display of the legend of the silver masked man. Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta was born on September 23, 1917, in Tulancingo, but when he was five years old he moved with his family to Mexico City. At the age of 16, he made his debut as a professional wrestler. However, it was until he was 25 that he was known as El Santo, and he fought on the side of the rude.

El Santo is one of the iconic characters of 20th-century Mexican popular culture. To get to its museum you have to cross the railway museum. Of course, without forgetting to visit the imposing statue of the silver masked man.

Upon entering you will see a representation of the wrestler executing the key that immortalized him: “the one on horseback.” In addition to photos and reviews of the legendary fighter, you’ll see prints and works by local artists.

You will also notice that films of the silver masked man are projected on the screens and that in the surroundings there are many posters of the films. The exhibition also contains information about the more than 50 films in which the fighter appeared, who was practically a superhero in the cinema and also a detective like James Bond. 

It is worth mentioning that the legend of El Santo also extended to comics with “El Enmascarado de Plata”, edited by José Guadalupe Cruz.
