MEXICO CITY – Pet owners in Mexico City now have more budget-friendly options for their animals’ healthcare as the “Doctor Simi” chain continues to expand its SimiPet Care veterinary clinics. The network currently operates 22 facilities across the capital, highlighted by a highly accessible initial consultation fee of just 75 pesos (approximately $4 USD).
The expansion has brought the chain’s presence to 12 of the city’s 16 boroughs (alcaldías). The clinics maintain consistent operating hours, remaining open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The current distribution of SimiPet Care locations includes:
- Álvaro Obregón: La Mexicana and Las Palmas Observatorio.
- Azcapotzalco: Colonia Aguilera.
- Benito Juárez: Colonia Independencia.
- Coyoacán: Santa Úrsula Coapa.
- Cuauhtémoc: Nonoalco Tlatelolco, San Rafael, Hipódromo, Asturias, and Roma Norte.
- Gustavo A. Madero: Constitución de la República and Lindavista Sur.
- Iztacalco: Viaducto Piedad.
- Iztapalapa: Santiago Acahualtepec.
- La Magdalena Contreras: La Malinche and Santa Teresa.
- Miguel Hidalgo: Escandón I Sección.
- Tláhuac: San Isidro.
- Venustiano Carranza: Magdalena Mixiuhca, Jardín Balbuena, and Moctezuma 2a Sección.
Despite the significant growth, four boroughs—Cuajimalpa, Milpa Alta, Tlalpan, and Xochimilco—still lack SimiPet Care locations. Residents in these areas may need to travel to neighboring districts to access these low-cost services.
While the initial consultation price is a major draw for those seeking affordable care, pet owners are encouraged to verify clinic availability before arriving. Furthermore, the chain notes that while the first visit is discounted, specific treatments, diagnostic tests, and medications will incur additional costs.
