Campeche’s Tourism Secretary, Adda Solís Peniche (Morena), was given a severe dressing-down; during her appearance before the state legislature, she was reprimanded by Mónica Fernández Montúfar (MC), the chair of the relevant committee.
Representatives of the local congress told her it was her duty to provide a clear account of the use of public funds, asked her to present itemized figures, and described her presentation of “results” as “unprofessional.”
Far from defending herself, Ms. Adda admitted she had no experience in the tourism sector—something she had told Governor Layda Sansores San Román (Morena) at the time of her appointment—yet the governor appointed her regardless.
