Lawyer José María García Tiquet announced that he, along with other victims of crime, will carry out a protest at the ranch of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, known as “La Chingada” in Palenque, Chiapas, to demand justice and call for swift action from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) regarding their stalled cases.
Extortion Allegations: García Tiquet stated that he was allegedly a victim of extortion at a FIRT Olmeca checkpoint in the municipality of Cunduacán, where authorities demanded money in exchange for avoiding arrest.
Damaged Vehicle: He reported that his vehicle was seized under the false pretense of being stolen, and authorities now intend to return it damaged and bearing bullet holes.
Call for Intervention: The lawyer indicated that he will join forces with other citizens seeking justice—such as Lucio Isidro following the alleged police killing of his son—to travel to the former president’s property and request his intervention.
