MEXICO CITY — President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo led the official flag-presentation and oath-taking ceremony for the Mexican National Soccer Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During the event, held at the Mexican Football Federation’s High Performance Center, Sheinbaum presented the national flag to the squad, known as El Tri. “The nation trusts that, as good and loyal Mexicans, you will know how to fulfill your oath for the good of the people and the nation,” Sheinbaum stated.
The President emphasized that Mexico’s participation in the tournament serves as a powerful opportunity to inspire millions of children and young people through sportsmanship, dedication, and perseverance. Wishing the team success, she expressed confidence that their performance would foster unity and national pride.
Mexico will co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Canada.
