Journalist Roxana Guzmán Ramírez, director of the digital news outlet Pulso Informativo del Sureste, was kidnapped on Tuesday, June 2nd, in the municipality of Nanchital, in southern Veracruz.
A video, allegedly filmed inside the journalist’s home, began circulating on social media.

The footage shows several masked individuals carrying weapons, using tools to force their way into the house.
According to reports, after entering the home, the men subdued the journalist and then took her to an unknown location.
Authorities launch search in southern Veracruz
Following the report of the journalist’s disappearance, state and municipal security forces began patrols and search operations in various parts of the region.
However, as of Tuesday afternoon, there was no information on the whereabouts of Roxana Guzmán Ramírez or on any arrests related to the case.
The journalist is known in the area for her live broadcasts and dissemination of local news, as well as for responding to citizen reports through digital platforms.
Prosecutor’s Office opens investigation
The State Attorney General’s Office reported that ministerial agents, forensic experts, and prosecutors are working together to clarify what happened and locate the journalist.
“The Coatzacoalcos Regional Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation into the alleged kidnapping of the victim, identified by the initials R.G.R., who works as a journalist in the municipality of Nanchital,” the Veracruz State Attorney General’s Office reported.

The agency indicated that the investigation is ongoing to identify the possible perpetrators and gather the necessary evidence to advance the case.
He also assured that the actions will be carried out in accordance with the law and with respect for human rights, while efforts continue to locate the journalist and clarify the events that occurred in Nanchital.
