Nicolás John Dubeski ran marathons and other competitions throughout his sporting career in various parts of the world and last Monday he ran the last kilometers that make up the 40,075 kilometers of the earth’s circumference to finish what he called “Project Ecuador” and made in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.

After cutting the finish line, the prominent athlete Nazario Radilla García, representative of athletics in Zihuatanejo, presented a commemorative medal on which the years 1999 and 2024 were engraved, which is his sporting period, and gave the recognition in writing.
in an interview with La Voz de Zihuatanejo, Nick Dubeski, who has always been accompanied by his wife, Nancy Seely, announced that in January 1999 he completed his first marathon in Athens, Greece, of 42 kilometers; Then came various competitions such as the 50 kilometers in Guadalajara and two Olympic distance triathlons in 2005 and 2007 in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
In total he completed 40 marathons and 40 half-marathons, as well as other smaller distances in other competitions, which adds up to the circumference of the earth: 40,075 kilometers.
The athlete, who was a resident of Zihuatanejo for 15 years, now lives in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, but decided to finish the project in Zihuatanejo because it is his favorite place to run.
