11-year-old boy and his parents attacked by crocodile in Ixtapa, Guerrero

ZIHUATANEJO, Gro., April 15, 2024.- An 11-year-old boy and his parents were attacked by a crocodile more than three meters long in the Playa Linda bar, so they were transferred to a hospital for treatment medical.

It was around 6 p.m. on Monday, April 15th, when it was reported that a crocodile had attacked several people in the aforementioned place that is part of the Ixtapa River, so Civil Protection and the Red Cross went to the site immediately.

The Army and municipal police also attended the emergency call, however, when they arrived at the scene they no longer found anything.

Witnesses reported that a child was swimming in the sea and was attacked in the head by the reptile and his parents immediately went in to take the child out of the water, but were also attacked in the legs and arms.

The victims managed to get out of the sea got into a private vehicle and went to the Ixtapa Naval Hospital.

According to the information, the minor is 11 years old and his parents were identified as Blanca N, 50 years old, and Fernando N, 59 years old, originally from Zihuatanejo.

When the reporters arrived at the scene, the crocodile was still swimming on the surface and at times submerged in that place, known to be a natural habitat for these animals.
