Dozens of families celebrate the Day of the Dead in Oaxaca

Like every year, dozens of families gather in cemeteries in the city of Oaxaca and surrounding municipalities, where the tradition of watching over the graves of loved ones until dawn is preserved on the Day of the Dead.

It is mainly in these municipalities where the ancestral vigil continues to be preserved with its traditional elements and where, after cleaning, arranging and decorating the tombs with marigold flowers, families get ready to spend the night and early morning to share time with the absent souls who Since October 31 they return to earth.

With wind music and prayers, families accompany the vigil that takes on special characteristics in each community.
