Armed subjects shoot security guards at Cancun hotel

Preliminary data indicate that at the scene, criminals left a ‘narcomanta’.

Two security guards at the Royalton Hotel in Cancun were shot by alleged hitmen who fled on a motorcycle after committing the attack.

The events occurred tonight at 8:00 p.m., when the alleged hitmen approached the security booth and opened fire on the employees. Subsequently, the criminals fled, while the injured were quickly helped by their companions, who requested assistance.

Eyewitnesses to the incident immediately contacted the emergency number 911 to request an ambulance at the housing complex located along the Cancún-Puerto Morelos highway, due to the severe blood loss of the victims.

Professionals from a private health care company arrived at the scene to provide care to the injured, who were transferred to the IMSS specialty clinic.

Officials from the three levels of government appeared at the crime scene to carry out the relevant procedures.

As preliminary information, the hitmen left a “narcomanta” with a threatening message.
