Part of the landslide that occurred on the Oaxaca-Istmo Highway, between San José de Gracias and Las Animas, was already removed during the early morning, although there are still rocks.

After the 6.0 magnitude earthquake with its epicenter in the municipality of Matías Romero, region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, recorded at 11:06 p.m. yesterday, collapses on roads, minor damage, as well as cracks in houses were reported.

A new earthquake in Oaxaca alerted the residents, some of whom still had not recovered from last night.

Data from the National Seismological Service (SSN) indicate that the earthquake was of magnitude 4.2 located 55 kilometers northeast of Unión Hidalgo, it was recorded at 5:30 in the morning.

The organization also detailed that until 1:00 in the morning this Saturday, 7 aftershocks of the magnitude 6.0 earthquake that occurred in the entity had been recorded, the largest aftershock was magnitude 3.7.

Regarding the landslides that were recorded on the Oaxaca-Istmo Highway, between San José de Gracias and Las Animas, some rocks were already removed during the early morning, although there are still some. In the Guelaguetza auditorium where a concert was being held, the evacuation protocol was followed.

Through social networks, Internet users shared images of the damage to the Catholic temple in the metropolitan municipality of San Sebastián Tutla.

Also, an alleged crack in the Tlalixtac de Cabrera vehicular bridge, east of the capital, among others.

The authorities reported that the damage was not serious, however in the city of Oaxaca old buildings were cordoned off due to the risk that small fragments of facades could fall off.
