XIV Beach Volleyball World Championship to be hold in Tlaxcala next October

The XIV Beach Volleyball World Championship will be held in Tlaxcala between October 6 and 15, 2023 under the organization of the International Volleyball Federation and the Mexican Volleyball Federation. The competitions will take place in the cities of Tlaxcala, Apizaco, and Huamantla.

The 2023 Beach Volleyball World Cup not only guarantees the world title for the best male and best female duo but also a place for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Tlaxcala, Mexico will be the place that hosts the best players in the world among the 6 and on October 15.

The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) have exclusive authority over the representation of their respective countries in the Olympic Games, so the participation of each athlete in the Paris Games will depend on the selection of their NOC to represent their delegation in Paris. 2024.

And the path to victory and, consequently, to the Games, has already been defined with the group draw for the 2023 Beach Volleyball World Cup.

In total, the 48 couples of each gender have been divided into 12 groups of four teams each. The two best classifieds and the four best third-placed teams will advance directly to the round of 16, in addition to the four surviving couples from the play-offs.

It is the first time in two decades that the competition is held in the American continent -the last edition was in Rio de Janeiro, in 2003-.

The main couples are the Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sorum, Olympic champions in Tokyo 2020 and current world champions. The Grimalt cousins, from Chile, will be the best Latin asset in the men’s category. In the female category, the Brazilians Ana Patrícia and Duda stand out, who are also looking for their second title.
