Hawaii: Two Mexican nationals die in Maui fires

Two Mexicans died in forest fires on the island of  Maui, Hawaii, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).

In a statement, the agency indicated that personnel from the General Consulate of Mexico in San Francisco are in contact with the families to provide them with the necessary assistance and accompaniment.

Similarly, they are in communication with local authorities to confirm the procedures and protocols to follow, based on the emergency situation on the island.

The SRE indicated that Consulate personnel have been in  Maui since August 12 to provide direct care, issue emergency passports, and guide families and channel them to the resources that the US authorities are providing.
