Mexico women’s team wins the silver medal in the Archery World Cup

The women’s team of Mexico won the silver medal in the compound modality of the Archery World Cup that is held in Berlin, after falling in the final against India by 235-229.

Dafne Quintero, Ana Sofía Hernández, and Andrea Becerra could not overcome the Indians Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand Swami, and Parneet Kaur, who took the gold after finishing ahead in the 4 sets (57-59, 58-59, 57 -59 and 57-58).

The Mexicans reached the final of this archery modality after beating Thailand in the second round (231-227), defeating Germany in the quarterfinals (233-227), and South Korea in the semifinals (224-222).

On Friday, August 4th, the World Cup will carry on, Mexico will once again have another opportunity to fight for the medal in the women’s team semifinals, where they will face Germany.

Ángela Ruiz, Alejandra Valencia, and Aída Román will play to enter the final, in which the winner of the other semifinal between France and the Netherlands will be present in search of the title and the place for the Paris 2024 games.
