Mazatlán FC shook off the thirst for victory not only in the semester but since last April, after beating Austin FC 1-3 with great goals from Jesús Colman, Andrés Montaño, and Eduard Bello at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, within the opening day of the Leagues Cup.
After a 0-0 loss that presaged a duel that would be decided on penalties, it was in the second half that the Liga MX team managed to break the ‘ice’ with a great goal in front of Jesús Colman’s crescent from a pass from Eduard Bello at minute 49.
Diego Fagundez closed the gap with a penalty on minute 65′, but two minutes later the Mazatlecos responded again with a left-footed goal from Andrés Montaño that seemed definitive.
