The Puerto Vallarta International Airport registers a total 642,600 passengers in one month

The number of passengers passing through the Puerto Vallarta International Airport continues to grow. The month of April saw a 12.6% increase in travelers, which brought the gain in the first 4-month period of 2023 to 24.8%, and placed it once again as Grupo Aeroportuario of the Pacifico’s leading air terminal in Mexico (in comparative increase).

According to preliminary data from GAP, in the month of April 2023, the 12 GAP Mexican airports registered an increase in total passenger traffic of 15.1%, compared to the same month in 2022. The airports of Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos presented growth of 18.6%, 13.8%, 12.4%, and 11.6%, respectively, compared to April 2022.

The Vallarta airport welcomed 642,900 passengers, while in the same month of 2022, there were 571,900, a difference compared to last year of 12.4%. In this way, it added 2,660,700 passengers in the first quarter of the year, 24.8 percent more than the same period last year.

In April, 260,000 passengers arrived on domestic flights to Puerto Vallarta, 14.1 percent more than the same month in 2022, when there were 227,800. After four months there were 899,700 passengers, 23.8% more than last year.

In addition, 382,800 passengers were captured on international flights, 11.3 percent more than in April 2022, when there were 344,100. That brings the total of international visitors in the first four-month period of 2023 to 1,761,000 passengers, 25.3 percent more than last year.

The volume of seats offered at GAP airports during April 2023 increased by 16.8%, compared to April 2022. The load factor went from 82.0% in April 2022 to 81.0% in April 2023.

No new routes were opened in GAP’s Mexican terminals in April, but the situation is expected to change in June.
