Mazatlecos ready for Sabado de Carnaval!

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The first activities of the Mazatlán Carnival 2023 took place without any incidents, said the mayor Edgar González Zatarain.

He stated that on Thursday, Feb. 17, the coronation of the King of Joy was held at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium and simultaneously the Mazatlán F.C. against the Pachuca team, in addition to the first party day in Olas Altas.

He stressed that despite the various activities, the city remains clean thanks to the urban cleaning crews.

“During the first day of Carnival, everything was normal, with no problems or incidents. The city was clean, the brigades did their work, a thank you to the maintenance and cleaning brigades that practically had everything finished since dawn ”, the mayor said.

Regarding the sections on the Malecón for the parade on Sunday, he mentioned that citizens can begin to take care of spaces as long as it is not to profit from them since it is a tradition that all Mazatlecos have the right to enjoy.

“Sometimes there are families that take turns setting aside, and it is valid, but it is something familiar, it is not for profit, it is valid, as long as they do not profit from it. As long as it is not for the purpose of doing business, nothing happens. It is the party of the Mazatlecos ”, he expressed.

This Saturday the carnival activities will continue after the coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games, Uma Ramírez, at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium; In addition, a parade of lights will take place across the bay.

On Saturday, the coronation of the Queen of Carnival, Alejandra Tirado, will take place with a performance by the Banda MS.
