In order to have the carnival zone free of any object that represents a risk for those who attend Olas Altas to enjoy the International Carnival of Mazatlán, Cultura Mazatlán, in coordination with agents of the Municipal Police, Civil Protection and Beach Operator carry out sweeps in the area.
Bottles, crystals, and sharp objects were some of the items that the security staff found and removed from the place so that they cannot harm anybody.
The sweep began at the crossroads that make up the streets of Zaragoza avenue and Paseo Claussen, and continued along the entire rocky, pedestrian, and aquatic strip, until reaching the end of Rigoberto Lewis street with Olas Altas.
Jaime Othoniel Barrón Valdez, municipal Public Security Secretary, highlighted the importance of this operation, which will be implemented every day of the great party so that people do not hide any type of weapon.
He pointed out that among the items found, there are beer bottles, pointed metal rods, two knives, a kitchen knife, and several pieces of glass, all this material was taken to the facilities of the preventive corporation to recycle it.
