Archaeological site of Dzibilchaltún inaugurates light and sound show

On Saturday, October 15th, the light and sound show in the archaeological zone of Dzibilchaltún was inaugurated by Governor Mauricio Vila.

This show drives and promotes the artistic splendor and culture of the Maya region.

The inauguration took place at the archaeological site, on Saturday, October 15th, where the head of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) of Yucatan, José Arturo Chab Cárdenas, and the governor of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila Dosal, were present.

According to the presentation of the project, a route will be carried out that will have 7 stations, which are:

  • The welcome tree in Sacbé.
  • The pyramid.
  • The central square.
  • The Xlacah cenote.
  • The Sacbe.
  • The temple of the 7 dolls.
  • The Mayan town.

The tour begins with a welcome, where the public will be explained what Dzibilchaltún means for the Mayan civilization, as well as the stone writing that was found, colonization, the impact of the meteorite, and its effects.

The Governor of Yucatan was present at the inauguration.
It should be noted that 9 projectors with laser technology are used for this project, in addition to more than 100 lamps that illuminate the paths and give life to the trees. The tour script was written by Yucatecan archaeologists and supervised and authorized by the INAH archeology council.

During the inauguration of the Dzibilchaltún light show, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal indicated that these actions will promote the arrival of more tourism in Yucatan, as well as the generation of jobs that will strengthen the economy of Yucatecans.
