Through his Twitter account, the head of the Ministry of Public Security reported that this section of the road is closed.

Although hurricane “Orlene” no longer represents a danger to southern Sinaloa, it has left some damage, which fortunately so far has not been serious.

Through his Twitter account, Cristóbal Castañeda Camarillo, head of the Ministry of Public Security reported that the section of the Durango-Mazatlán highway is closed.

After its passage, the hurricane caused a landslide at km. 128 of the aforementioned road, for which he urged the population to avoid driving through that area until its reopening, which will take approximately 3 hours.

“Orlene” no longer poses a danger

Hurricane “Orlene” weakened to a tropical depression, so it is no longer a danger to southern Sinaloa.

The Mazatlán municipal Public Security Secretariat reported that the meteorological phenomenon was located this Monday at 2:00 p.m. 110 kilometers east-northeast of the port.

It was reported that it has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and is moving north-northeast at 15 km/h.
