After many complaints of terrible airport taxi service, ADO tests new transportation service: Merida Airport to Paseo de Montejo.

MÉRIDA, Yucatan.- The company ADO began this month a pilot program with buses for transfers from the city airport to the hotel zone in Paseo de Montejo. The service will include airport workers and travelers arriving in this city.

The regional manager of ADO Mobility, Eduardo Córdoba Balbuena, reported that the service began last Thursday, September 1 as a pilot plan and throughout September it will be free, with specific stops and a route that will include tourist points to the Historic Center of Mérida.

He explained that the State Government, through the Sefotur and IMDUT agencies, will be conducting surveys among travelers to
find out their opinions on the use, operation, times, and conditions of the service.

The executive added that the course will be on Aviación Avenue towards the ADO Central on 69th Street, later towards the
Santa Lucía Park, in the Historic Center; the third stop will be at Paseo 60, at the operating station of that company, then a quick stop at the Fiesta Americana hotel and, immediately, the fifth point will be the International Congress Center (CIC), to then return on Reforma Avenue to Central ADO -CAME and from there to the airport again. He stressed that the rate will be determined by the State Government and the Institute of Territorial Urban Mobility and Development (Imdut).

“The route circuit will start at the airport exit, in a ‘bay’ that ASUR has assigned, which will be covered to avoid discomfort in times of rain and intense sun,” he explained.
