AMLO announces the inauguration of the Colima-Guadalajara highway for December 2022

In a video published on social media, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, together with Enrique Alfaro and Indira Vizcaíno Silva, announced that construction of the Colima-Guadalajara highway will end in December of this year.

“Construction began in 2013 and was stopped when we arrived at the Government. It will be inaugurated in December and there will be a time saving of at least half an hour,” President López Obrador reported in a video posted on his Twitter account.

The President pointed out that this project is being worked on in collaboration with the state governments of Colima and Jalisco, whose leaders accompanied the President during the supervision of the work on a section of the highway.

“We are working together, coordinated, in harmony for the good of the people and for the good of Colima, Jalisco, and for the good of Mexico,” AMLO said.

Both state leaders thanked the president for his support and agreed on the positive impact of the highway on the issue of connectivity and for the economic development of both states.

Colima Governor Vizcaíno said that the completion of this highway means putting an end to the “old claim” of the citizens, while Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro took the opportunity to recall another road work that he highlighted as important: the Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta highway.
