78 golfers will compete for victory in the eighth stage of the Professional Golf Tour, which will take place in El Campanario

The El Campanario Country Club, a 7,450-yard par 72 course designed by the Robert Von Hagge Smelek and Baril firm, will host stage 8 of the 2021-22 season of the Professional Golf Tour, which will distribute a purse of one million 600 thousand pesos.

A total of 78 players make up the field of the Queretaro date that is valid for the DevSeries of the PGA Tour Latin America, which will include the participation of players such as the Mexicans Isidro and Juan Carlos Benítez, Rodolfo Cazaubón, Aarón Terrazas, as well as the Guatemalan and current leader of the José Toledo Ranking.

“I am very happy to be back, I had some problems practicing due to the cold in Houston, but now I am very excited to be in a spectacular course like El Campanario”, said José Toledo, winner of three stages in what so far from the current campaign (Puebla, Monterrey and San Miguel de Allende).

“A few years ago I played here and the truth is that it is a great course, it is in very good condition, I feel that the key to having a good result will be the greens,” added the Central American golfer.

Poblano Isidro Benítez, fourth in the Ranking, confessed to being motivated to face another stage of the only paid golf circuit in our country.

“I am very happy, with many wins to start this new year in a course as spectacular as El Campanario. As always the field is first class and I hope to get a good result”, he indicated.

The fair in Queretena marks the return to the Professional Golf Tour of Sebastián Vázquez from the capital; the second player with the most wins in the history of the national circuit with a total of five, for seven that José de Jesús “Camarón” Rodríguez from Guanajuato has, who this time does not appear in the field because he will play the Astara Golf Championship presented by Korn Ferry Tour Mastercard in Bogotá, Colombia.

“I feel very happy to be playing golf, I am very motivated, I have been training for a little while, my game is not one hundred percent yet, but the most important thing is that I am competing and I know that I will soon begin to play better”, said Sebastián Vázquez.

FMG representatives

Due to their outstanding performance, amateurs Manuel Barbachano and Juan Manuel Martínez will be the representatives of the Mexican Golf Federation (FMG) in stage 8 of the 2021-22 season of the Professional Golf Tour.
