More than 1,200 cases of influenza registered in Mexico in 2022

The Health Secretariat report details that 16% of influenza infections occurred in the age group of 20 to 24 years, followed by the group of 25 to 29 years with 25% and 30 to 34 years with 14%.

1,261 cases of influenza have been confirmed in Mexico, 22 of the patients have died.
The number is still down from the previous 2019-2020 season.

Since the seasonal season began, in October 2021, to date, 1,261 cases of influenza have been confirmed in Mexico, 22 of them have died.

Likewise, of the 1,261 confirmed cases, most of them have occurred in Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Nuevo León, Tabasco, and Sonora.

A significant increase in cases of influenza can be observed compared to the past season 2020-2021 where only 7 infections were registered. However, the number is still below the previous 2019-2020 season where 6,204 were reported during the same time period.
