US State Department reveal allegedly classified information regarding Ovidio Guzman

The United States Department of State indicated that Ovidio Guzmán, son of the drug trafficker “El Chapo” Guzmán, had ordered the murder of a popular Mexican singer who had refused to perform an act during his wedding.

According to the US authorities, Ovidio Guzmán ordered the murder of the singer, whose name was not specified, along with other drug traffickers and some informants.

Within the statement, the authorities define Ovidio Guzmán as a “high-ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel,” also mentioning that he, along with his brother Joaquín Guzmán López, have a transnational command and control role of the Sinaloa organization.

“The Guzmán López brothers began their drug trafficking careers early, inheriting the relationships of their deceased brother, Edgar Guzmán-López. After Edgar’s death, Ovidio and Joaquín inherited much of the drug proceeds and began to invest large amounts of cash in the purchase of marijuana in Mexico and cocaine in Colombia, “says the document.

It is also abundant that the Guzmán López brothers currently supervise a total of 11 laboratories in Sinaloa, which produce between 1,300 and 2,200 kilos of methamphetamine per month.

“Methamphetamine is sold wholesale to other Sinaloa members and to US and Canadian distributors,” the State Department said.

To date, the US State Department maintains a reward of up to $ 5 million to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and / or conviction of Ovidio Guzmán López.
