Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- As of today, the Westjet airline began operations with the flight from Calgary, Canada, to Mazatlán, with three frequencies a week.

The Secretary of Tourism, Óscar Pérez Barros, informed that the flight will take place on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the months of October to December and according to the itineraries, it arrives from Calgary at 2:08 p.m. and leaves Mazatlán at 15:30 hours.

Pérez Barros expressed that Canadian tourism likes to know the culture very much, adding to this the great accessories that exist around this city, such as the Magic Towns, such as Rosario and Cosalá, in addition to the stately towns such as Copala, Concordia, and San Ignacio, among other attractions

“Mazatlán is totally transformed, very suitable for the tourist offer, to what international and national tourism requires today,” he added.

His stay is 14 days on average and he likes to enjoy the gastronomy, customs and obviously the history of the places and all this offers the south of Sinaloa, said the head of the Sectur.

He pondered the fact that more flights will come from the Sunwing airline, which before Covid 19 touched nine destinations with Mazatlán and with the new collaboration agreement that was made with the company, the intention is to touch twelve, with this we are saying that it is guaranteed connectivity with Canada, and with companies such as West Jet, Sunwing, we will have a greater number of seats compared to those that existed before the pandemic; “This speaks highly of the reactivation,” he added.

He also announced that the Culiacán airport has an 87 percent recovery of seats; Mazatlán 85 and Los Mochis, 80 percent which tells us that we are recovering them; “We lacked international flights and they are already arriving, it is a good signal that we send to tourists,” he said.
