COVID-19: Mexico accumulates 4,339 deaths in seven days

The Ministry of Health detailed that since the beginning of the pandemic and until today, 274,703 deaths have been reported in Mexico due to COVID-19.

In its daily report, the Ministry of Health (SSa) announced that in the last 24 hours there were 546 deaths from COVID-19, for a total of 274,703 since the start of the pandemic in Mexico. In the period of the last seven days, from Friday, September 17 to today, in the country, there were 4,339 confirmed deaths related to the virus.

The organ pointed out that in one day 10,139 cases were confirmed, that is, 1,669 less than the 11,808 reported yesterday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Mexico and until today, there are 3 million 619,115 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the national territory.

The 10 entities with the most accumulated confirmed cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, Puebla, Veracruz, Sonora and San Luis Potosí.

In this sense, the distribution by sex in confirmed cases shows a predominance in women (50.1%), while the general median age is at 39 years.

The SSa detailed that until the closing of information on Friday, there have been 61,349 confirmed active cases, that is, they presented symptoms in the last 14 days. It is estimated that the figure could rise to 67,092 active cases if those that have not been reported to the health sector are counted.

In this order of ideas, the entities with the most active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are: Tabasco, Colima, Mexico City, Yucatán, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Nayarit, San Luis Potosí and Quintana Roo.
