In recent months there has been a significant increase in the reservation of farms for weddings
Romance tourism is “taking off” in Yucatan, as more and more people come to the state to get married, due to the tourist attractions that are offered, and there is also a growing event planning industry.
The Mexican Association of Professionals in Fairs, Exhibitions, Congresses, and Conventions (Amprofec) has registered in recent months a significant increase in the reservation of farms for weddings; many even rent the entire venue for their guests.
Due to this demand, many stores are remodeling their facilities so as not to be left behind, and others have also been rebuilt to offer this service.
In fact, many of these places already have a team of people who plan the entire event, so now these services are contracted through packages, which makes it easier to organize the wedding.
Other places that have had a significant demand are the beaches because people look for natural settings, a characteristic offered by the Yucatan coast; Furthermore, its proximity to the capital makes it easier to organize the celebrations.
In this context, Yucatán is benefiting from the excess of sargassum that for some years has reached the beaches of Quintana Roo, a place that was consolidated thanks to the so-called “romance tourism”.
Mayan weddings
Another attraction that Yucatan has is that “Mayan weddings” are now held in various settings such as cenotes, so being a different event attracts more couples who want to live that new experience.
Each event has different budgets, it all depends on what you want to eat, dance and even dress, because prices range from 90,000 to 150,000 pesos or more, to organize a different wedding in one of the aforementioned places.
