Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – Making use of the opportunities of the (USMCA) T-MEC corridor, in Mazatlan the construction of what will be the most important floating cargo port in the country is being prepared, and according to Alfredo Ruelas Solís, president of the Council for the Economic Development of Sinaloa southern zone, it will be “at the level of the most modern ports in Asia.”
Within the growth plans for Mazatlán, Ruelas Solís highlighted the joint work with the State Secretariat of Economy, as well as some investors, who will give life to one of the largest projects in the entire country; a floating cargo port. In an exclusive interview with Reacción Informativa, the head of Codesin explained that this institution will be contributing in each of the steps for the development of the project.
“This is a project that Codesin Zona Sur brings and that is already cooked, I can say it and I can say it openly that this is already a fact, the port community is formed, it is united and working in a single direction to generate more and better loads in the port of Mazatlán ”, he declared.
“We already bring a dynamic within the agenda of the establishment of our port community, we are like Codesin contributing to the conformation of the community from the legal point of view, giving it form from a public notary, that has legal life to be able to make promotions and efforts as a recognized entity ”, detailed Ruelas Solís.
The president of this institution explained that due to the advanced growth that Mazatlán has had, added to the good results that the current cargo port has had, in addition to the opportunities that the T-MEC corridor offers to the port, the arrival of this new The plan would increase the capacity from the current 50,000 teus to more than 8 million containers.
