The Mazatlan-Durango superhighway remains open with some warnings
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The thermometer continues to record low and icy temperatures in the state of Durango, mainly in the high and mountainous areas of the state, however, the superhighway has remained open for vehicular traffic since the past January 02.
Before the end of the old year and the beginning of 2021, snowfall was reported in the mountainous area of Durango, so the agency of the SCT, Federal Roads and Bridges (CAPUFE), reported the closure to vehicular passage for several hours with the in order to avoid road accidents that put drivers at risk; Subsequently, circulation was restored on January 1, however, the opening was a couple of hours because for the safety of the users it was again decided to close it.
It was until January 2 at approximately 11:00 in the morning that CAPUFE reported that the land connection would be reestablished, with the warning that, if subsequent snowfalls were recorded, the highway would again be closed.
Currently there are temporary closures and warnings on roads in the center and south of the country, due to rains, fog and road accidents.
