Tourists ran away for fear of being attacked

Two groups of irregular street vendors had a confrontation on one of the streets in the center of the City of San Cristóbal for a dispute over spaces and because of “taking away tourist clients “, although some curious indicate that everything started derived a tourist accidentally threw merchandise from a seller.

In this sense, the Municipal Police Directorate reported that it was a fight between informal merchants, in which elements of the State Preventive Police and the corporation secured the assurance of Gregorio “N”, as responsible for having initiated said acts.

According to the police report, around 8:08 p.m. on Thursday, during preventive patrols, elements of both corporations noticed the presence of several people, who were witnessing a fight between cotton candy sellers, so they immediately intervened to restore order in the area.

As a result, the polices officer arrested Gregorio “N” and sent him to the Qualifying Judge, who determined his admission to the preventive jail of the Municipal Police for misdemeanor contemplated in Article 147, section IX of the Bando de Police and Good Government of San Cristóbal.
Also, two other people were arrested and sent to the public prosecutor. Since the attacks were direct and with death threats, although the names were not revealed.

Hundreds of tourists from San Cristóbal fled the areas for fear of being attacked.
